News and commentary on education, politics, and the intersection of the two.

But what about the stories saying in Minneapolis the schools are experiencing "black" flight as parents put their children into charter schools?Doesn't that indicate a desire for an alternative to public schools?
Education at the Brink writes: "Yet another reason why vouchers are a bad idea. What if the people who wrote the curriculum discussed in this column wrote it for all students!?"Seems to me this is a reason why tuition vouchers are a good idea. The only way anyone can write a curriculum for all students is to legally impose his curriculum on schools. Tuition vouchers give parents escape options from the NCTM's retarded Math curricula and from the College of ERd's State-worshipful History curricula.
